院子位于北京市房山區國家AAA風景區十渡，原是一戶農舍，一半改造一半新建用作民宿。院子的西南角新建了一幢兩層建筑，依山而建，融于自然，視野開闊。

新建的房子位于院子的西南角，占地26㎡，分為兩層，一層的入口在房子北側，抬步進屋東側是樓梯和衛生間，南側落地大窗，窗外的胡桃樹恰好遮陽。

二層東側和南側是長條大窗，清風穿堂而過，捎走山里夏日的濕悶，下午的時候陽光可以透過西側方窗直灑屋尾。

院子的北側是老宅的一間大屋，有三間房，每間房的入口朝向均設計了15度轉角，既保證視線的私密性，每間又都可以望向東南側的群山，隨著一天日照方位角的軌跡變化，墻面與院落會形成不同時段的光影景象。

設計借原有南側圍墻拆除位置新建一方水池。清早，霧氣未散盡，日頭剛打東邊升起，在院子里四下漫步，群山一覽無余，余韻悠然。

建造這個院子使用了村子里建房常用的灰渣土磚，這種磚時間久了會透出些土色，因為建筑有曲面，過程中一直與當地的工匠師傅交流探討、相互借鑒，同時也通過建造這個院子真切的感受到了每塊磚的分量。
